We all would like to get massages but many of us are afraid to give them. We’re frightened of accidentally causing pain to the other person. The dread of not helping enough is a big one. We are concerned that the person getting the massage will dislike what we’re doing. The great news is that you can learn how to give a terrific massage every time you want to do so. Here’s information on how you too can give anyone an awesome back massage.
First, you need to make sure that the person is comfortable while lying down. Firm and soft are the aim in terms of the surface on which they are lying down. There’s no need for a massage table table but you can have them lie down on a bed. If they are on your floor, lay down a mat or some soft blankets or towels so that they will feel more relaxed. If the person would like to keep his or her shirt on, see to it that it is of a soft material so there will be less friction and itching.
Start out with the standard rub. Using the enture flat side of your hands, slowly rub up from the base of the back toward the neck. Put some pressure into this rub but dont start with the full on massage yet. Start at the base of the back and then move your hands upward, along both sides of the backbone toward the neck then move across the shoulders and work your way back down the back. Make the loops smaller as you repeat this step so that the whole back can be loosened.
Using the heels of your hands gives you a superb way to offer terrific and pointed pressure. Work the heels of your palms in small circles beginning in the middle of the base of the back and then working out toward the sides and then upwards and back in until you’ve massaged all reas of the back.
Try sitting on one of the sides of the person you you’re giving a massage to. Next, with one hand on top of yor other hand, thrust into the back using your fingers. Start out at the backbone and dig in steadily as you move your hands away from the spine and across the back then softly move your hands back across the back toward the backbone. Repeat this process as you try to work up the back and then repeat on the person’s other side.
Work out the spine. Starting out with the base of the back, work your way up each of the sausage like sinews on either side of the spinal column by rubbing in small circles with a couple of fingers or your thumbs. Rub each node at least five times each so that you can generate a bit of friction. Rub all the way up one side of the back and then work up the other side.
Something that you should remember as you use every one of these techniques is that it is good to re-relax the person between each part of the massage that you give. For instance, after applying one technique, perform the basic rub we talked about at the beginning of the article for a few minutes.
