Hatchback Style People Carriers

Some people describe multi purpose vehicles (MPVs) as a car with a larger capacity than a people carrier with the functionality of a hatchback. However not everyone wants to go for a vehicle that is viewed as a family car and instead prefer a smaller car like the Ford Fiesta & Toyota Yaris.

A compact MPV is a further classification within the multi purpose vehicle category. This category is argued by some to have been completely created by the Renault Scenic. When it was first produced in 1996 it was soon awarded the European car of the year. In general these cars are more flexible than other cars and have features such as individually folding seats. You will find most compact MPVs to be produced for the European market but can also be found throughout the world.

You will find that American refer to MPVs as minivans. and are distinguished by their added height over other vehicles. The seats in these vehicles will make the driver have a better posture when driving.

Amongst popular MPVs is the Vauxhall Meriva. Using an innovative FlexDoor technology the rear doors open backwards towards the rear of the vehicle. This creates a wider area for which cargo can be loaded onto the vehicle.

The Kia Venga is a great car for those wanting to be environmentally friendly it also passed many safety test so is a good choice. Kia gives a 7 year warranty on all of its cars so you won’t be missing out here.

The Citroen C3 Picasso is a good option for people who like a lot of room in their car. Nominated for the European car of the year award in 2010 thanks mainly due to its good looks. This is a nice car but might cost you a little more than other comparative vehicles.

Based on the VW Gold the Skoda Yeti is a powerful 4×4 MPV. This is a very spacious car that is suitable for almost all situations.
